Vegetable seeds generally retain germination performance for 1 to 2 years when stored unopened under suitable conditions. They should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once the package is opened, the seeds should be used.
How often should I water newly sown seeds?
Until germination happens, the soil surface should remain consistently moist. Do not let the soil dry out completely. At the same time, avoid adding so much water that it turns muddy, because this can cause the seed to rot. Moistening the soil with a spray bottle is usually the safest method.
What should I do after the seeds germinate?
Once sprouts appear above the soil, their need for light increases. If you started germination indoors, move the seedlings to a brighter place. When seedlings reach the stage of 3 to 4 leaves, you can thin them if needed or transfer them into larger pots or into the garden.
What is the germination rate of the seeds?
The seeds offered for sale have an ultra-high germination rate. For most vegetable seeds, germination typically ranges between 95% and 99%.
